For more than 125 years, the St. Lucie River on the east coast of Florida has played a vital part in the development of the Treasure Coast region. Once considered a jungle river, the St. Lucie was prized for its biological diversity and shear ruggednes. Today, this same river that was once a playground for presidents is now one of the most polluted bodies of water in our country.
